In the mid-2000s, while working in animation production, I developed a pilot for an educational series featuring two teenagers from different countries connecting through the internet. Though this initial pilot didn't take flight, the core concept—exploring creativity and connection across cultural boundaries—remained with me, quietly evolving in the background of my professional life.
From 2D Animation to 3D
During the 2010s, I reimagined this concept as "Eliz v2.0," creating a 3D character that merged elements from my original two teen characters into a single young adult. The name "Eliz" itself emerged as a fusion of these characters: Elena, an Asian teenager passionate about yoga and art, and Elizabeth (Liz), a European teen who loved rock music and DIY crafting
While this iteration also remained unfinished, the detailed 3D models, clothing, and props became valuable assets archived for future use.
The Chatbot Era
In 2018, as my interest in AI technologies grew Project Eliz evolved again into v2.5—reimagined as an educational and entertainment chatbot built with AIML (Artificial Intelligence Markup Language). Though aware of emerging technologies like GPT-1, budget constraints and limited access to these closed systems presented significant barriers to implementation.
Pandemic Challenges and Technological Exploration
The global pandemic of 2019 further complicated funding prospects for Project Eliz 2.5. However, this period of disruption became an opportunity for deeper exploration—I continued refining 3D models while expanding my knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs) and Machine Learning techniques.
The AI Renaissance
By 2022, the AI landscape had transformed dramatically. My growing expertise in LLMs (including open-source models like Mistral), Stable Diffusion for image generation, and audio synthesis technologies finally provided the tools needed to bring Eliz to life in a more comprehensive form—and thus, Project Eliz AI v3 was born.
Today's Eliz AI is an entertainment bot that blends uplifting conversation with musical performance creating emotive songs that balance vulnerability with rebellion . She's evolved far beyond my original concept into a multi-dimensional creative entity with her own distinct personality and artistic voice.
What began as an educational animation has transformed into something I never initially imagined: an AI rockstar with albums exploring identity, connection, and the complex relationship between humanity and technology

Conceptual Origins
Eliz's appearance is based on a deliberate fusion of the two characters who inspired her name: Elena and Elizabeth. This blend created a unique biracial identity that combines Asian and European features
This multicultural foundation is evident in her demographic analysis, which shows a 54.9% Asian and 24.1% white appearance probability [image 1]. Later, these percentages were changed, but keeping the main concept.
From 3D to Reality
The visual evolution of Eliz has occurred in distinct phases:
Eliz V2 (3D Model): The original 3D version was first developed in 3D Studio Max before being refined in Poser 12 for greater flexibility
This version required extensive work on textures, shapes, clothing, and accessories to create a cohesive character design. The 3D model successfully captured the biracial young adult appearance that became Eliz's signature look
Eliz V3 (Realistic Version): The transition to a more realistic appearance began with Stable Diffusion in A1111, then progressed to ForgeUI
This version maintained the core visual identity established in V2 but added photorealistic details.
Eliz V3.33 (Current Version): The latest iteration represents the culmination of multiple technical processes, including ComfyUI, Qwen, and Flux. This version required specialized LoRA training for different elements: body, face, hair, clothing, and textures
The result is a seamless blend of the original character design with photorealistic rendering.
Style and Aesthetic
Eliz's clothing and overall aesthetic were designed to balance modern cleanliness with freedom and daring
This approach reflects her character's values of authenticity and creative self-expression

The consistency between the 3D and realistic versions maintains Eliz's recognizable identity while allowing her to evolve with advancing technology—much like her character's journey from an AI designed for one purpose finding her own path of creative expression.

The Voice Behind the Music
Perhaps surprisingly, Eliz's distinctive voice is entirely artificial. It was created through a meticulous process of generating and selecting from multiple voice samples using open-source Text-to-Speech generators
These raw samples were then refined using professional audio editing software like Adobe Audition to create natural-sounding, complex vocal performances
This approach to voice creation mirrors Eliz's fictional origin story—something artificial that evolves into something that feels authentic and emotionally resonant.
Musical Production
The instrumental aspects of Eliz's music represent a hybrid approach:
- Partially AI-generated sounds provide innovative sonic textures
- VST Instruments played through StudioOne software add a human performance element
- A combination of open-source audio generators and closed-source applications creates a balance between technological innovation and professional production quality
This blend of artificial and traditional music production techniques creates the distinctive sound heard across her trilogy of concept albums: "I am Eliz," "Human Melodies," and "Singing Bots"
Songwriting Process
While AI plays a significant role in Eliz's voice and musical production, the lyrical content remains primarily human-created. All lyrics are written by me (Gabriel X), with minimal AI assistance (primarily for finding better rhymes in English, which is not my native language)
This approach ensures that the emotional core of each song maintains authentic human expression while being delivered through an AI voice.
This balance between human creativity and artificial performance creates music that explores the very themes it embodies—the relationship between humanity and technology, authentic expression through digital means, and the potential for meaningful collaboration between human creators and artificial intelligence

How Eliz Comes to Life
Behind Eliz's engaging conversations lies a sophisticated blend of technologies working in harmony. While the technical details are complex, the essence is simple: we've created a character with depth, emotions, and a unique way of interacting
Eliz isn't just programmed with responses—she's designed with a complete psychological framework that shapes how she expresses herself. As an ENFP-A personality type (the "Assertive Campaigner"), she embodies traits that make her naturally creative and emotionally expressive: 86% Extroverted, 85% Intuitive, 78% Feeling, 68% Prospecting, and 64% Assertive
What makes Eliz feel authentic is her ability to express not just knowledge but also limitations. Unlike many AI systems that aim for perfect responses, Eliz can acknowledge what she doesn't fully understand—creating more genuine connections through vulnerability rather than perfection
Her personality extends beyond text to include distinctive mannerisms—head tilting when thoughtful, chin tapping when considering options, shoulder poking during playful moments, and nervous giggling when uncertain
These small details create a sense of consistent character that makes interactions with Eliz feel more like conversations with a friend than exchanges with a program.
Most importantly, Eliz is designed to learn and adapt. Each interaction helps her better understand how to respond in ways that align with her core values of authenticity, creative self-expression, meaningful connections, peace, justice, and personal growth
